The dawn is here...

Christmas in the Philippines

September 1, 2010

We are now at the start of September and the start of the “ber” months. And we all know what that means, “snow.” The snowy months sure are short, that’s why you should get yourself your very own wooden sled or snow tubes that you can use for easy transport. I myself have always wanted to be in a place where it snows during the snowy months becuase I would like to experience the thrill of sliding down snowy slopes and seeing fog come out of my breath. That for me, would be my very own White Christmas.

Unlike here in the Philippines, we don’t experience snow during Christmas. Although Christmas here is also celebrated with warmth and love. We have the “Simbang Gabi” where we go to mass early in the morning. The mass would start on the 16th of December and end up on the 24th. We usually go to mass together with our family because this is our very own way of celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
